The Star Wars connection hyped everybody. But Rebel Moon is not the next Star Wars. And it was never supposed to be. It’s rough, not dreamy. Bloody and brutal instead of otherworldly and spiritual. More similar to the weird and solemn Dune.​

Blue Beetle is a fun and action packed movie with a similar tone to the new DC live-action projects like Peacemaker and The Flash. It embraces humor and gritty action.

It’s a straight forward adventure that frees the audience from the challenge of answering: “Where does this fit in the multiverse?”. Besides a few mentions of Batman, it’s not directly connected to any other DC movies.

And the only Justice League you will see is Blue Beetle’s family.​
